Profiles in History announced yesterday that their upcoming Lost auction will be held in the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport on August 21st and 22nd.
The Barker Hangar, known for its immense size, has been home to several important and impressive events. Some of the most notable were the Barneys sale, the TV Land awards, The Simpsons party and a Kid Rock concert. It also served as host to the drink.eat.play “Vegan in LA” event.
Taking a page out of the Propworx handbook, I’ve got to tip my cap to Joe Maddalena & Co. Already at the top of the game, taking this auction to an impressive venue only heightens their stronghold on this industry. And should this event go off without a hitch and meet the incredible expectations it’s already attained, it could very well go down as the greatest auction in Hollywood memorabilia collection history.
“Profiles in History is thrilled to be holding the LOST Auction. LOST is one of the most iconic TV shows ever created, and we are working in conjunction with ABC to offer fans from around the world an opportunity to own a memento of this amazing show. This is a once in a lifetime auction event that will celebrate one of the most beloved shows in television history,” said Joe Maddalena, President of Profiles in History.
According to their press release, there will be over 1,000 lots of props, costumes and set decoration. However, it still remains to be seen if Profiles does indeed have every available piece of Lost memorabilia as they’ve claimed, or if my sources have been correct (see: Sources Reconfirm Not All Lost Props Will Be Available).
Either way, if you’re a fan of ABC’s hit television show, you can’t help but to be excited over this. Lost is already considered one of the best TV series of all time, and history is not likely to change that belief, so the prospect of owning a piece from the show is titillating.
